It Doesn’t Matter If Your Website Has 100,000 Visitors A Month Or A Day If You Can’t Monetise It, Your Company Will Die

What’s the point of having 100,000 people monthly or even daily, coming over and visiting our website when we can’t even convert them into paying customers? It’s pretty much like those visitors aren’t human, but cats. They come, they click and do nothing. Then they leave.

As we all know, those visits will be translated into stats, numbers and analytics—the ones we are chasing after like mad. Metrics like website visitors, social media followers, and email subscribers can quickly become obsessions. Many of them are important for our knowledge, that is right, however, not all of them will help us to monetise. To me, these numbers are great, yet more isn’t always better.

I’ve seen quite a number of internet-based platforms, be it a publication, e-commerce, productivity-based or others still burning their investors' money despite being around for more than three years. Some, even longer—10 years. Their investors must be truly patient, deep pockets who don’t-mind-to-keep-hoping-for-good-days-to-come-by type back there huh?
