No, digital marketing isn’t from another planet. All we have to do is simply open our eyes wider and see beyond what we’re seeing in it. To learn this lesson well, we have no other choice but to spend a little bit of time and observe how large brands are doing it. Observe their game plan from the perspective of a customer. Then we might see digital marketing a little bit clearer.
But they are using all the high-tech stuff, you say. Of course, they are, no doubt about that. But we don’t have to follow them. They are definitely using those high-tech and expensive tools to capture many things for their reporting purposes, for better decisions and to automate certain operations. Yet if we dig into it slightly deeper, whatever tools they are using are to achieve one single objective—conversions.
What are conversions? From a marketer’s point of view, conversions at about converting website visitors, strangers, readers and other people who have yet to purchase our products or services, into paid customers. Or if they are not ready to buy or don’t have a need to buy, we want them to be part of our future customer database. That is what conversions are all about.
